Dr. Richard Pimentel is an acknowledged authority on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Dr. Pimentel has an incredible life story. He lost his hearing while serving in the Vietnam War and returned home to fight for the rights of the disabled. He even had a movie made about his life entitled “Music Within” that was released in 2007. Denise Gold and Kayce Bramble were able to hear Dr. Pimentel Speak at a recent conference and they were truly inspired by his commitment to those with disabilities.
Lance Allred is the first legally deaf player in NBA history. He has since transitioned to becoming a motivational speaker. Denise Gold and Kayce Bramble were able to hear Lance speak at a recent conference and they were impressed with his lifelong commitment to reach his dreams with no regard for his disability. He has written several books, one of which is “Longshot: The Adventures of a Deaf Fundamentalist Mormon Kid and His Journey to the NBA".
Denise Gold was recently in Dallas,Texas for a conference with Oticon Hearing, with 600 people from all over the country and world, to learn about, discuss, and experience their leading edge technology, and was able to meet and talk with Gary Rosenblum, the new President of Oticon USA.

Denise volunteered side-by-side with Project H.E.A.V.E.N. staff in Fiji providing hearing health care for the island republic’s under-served populations. Project H.E.A.V.E.N. staff also served as interpreters for the volunteers but Denise said “the joy of the children and adults as they experienced a world of sound for the first time needed no interpretation. Their happiness and gratitude made the experience a joyous one for us as well.”
